In a significant development, Shahnawaz, who also goes by the alias Shafi Uzzama, a suspected Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist and a top fugitive on the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) most-wanted list, has been apprehended by the Delhi Police's Special Cell. The arrest took place during a major crackdown led by the anti-terror agency, as reported by a news agency on Monday. Authorities are now intensively interrogating Shahnawaz alias Shafi Uzzama to gather crucial information about his alleged involvement in terrorist activities.

Shahnawaz's background reveals that he is a mining engineer who had reportedly relocated to the National Capital Region after fleeing Pune. His arrest comes in the wake of the NIA's release of pictures of four individuals, including Shahnawaz, who were sought in connection with the ISIS module case in Pune. The NIA had announced a reward of ₹3 lakh for credible information leading to their capture, with assurances of maintaining the informant's confidentiality.
